What Must I do to be Saved?

Image
Introduction Not every religious book out there is going to have the information available for those who are interested in becoming a Christian. There are those who will simply tell you to pray the “Sinner’s Prayer” and that automatically makes you saved. But there is no example, in the New Testament, of an individual becoming a Christian based on a prayer. There is more to it than that, and it is why I’m writing this article.   What Must I Do? This question was asked on three different occasions in the Book of Acts and the results were the same. On Pentecost, when the first gospel sermon was preached, this was the response of those who heard it, Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Men and brethren, what shall we do?” (Acts 2:37). Saul of Tarsus, who became the Apostle Paul, asked Jesus this question in Acts 9:6, So he, trembling and astonished, said, “Lord, what do You want me to do?” Then the Lord sai

Things Not Found on Judgment Day, Part 5 Introduction We’ve discussed the Invitation before in our series on the Worship Service from 2019. The invitation song or song of encouragement comes at the conclusion of the sermon. It gives people the opportunity to make their life right with God.   Things Not Found on Judgment Day, Part 4   Introduction A tough case was being argued in court. The defense attorney, feeling that he was in trouble, sent the judge a bottle of hundred-year-old brandy. The defendant was fit to be tied. “The judge will kill me,” he said. “Trying to bribe him; we’re dead.” “I don’t think so,” his attorney told him, “I sent it in the other lawyer’s name!”   You Can’t Take it with You In ancient Egypt, Pharaohs were buried with luxurious items such as gold, jewelry, family heirlooms, paintings, and even a chariot. It was said that they would need these items in the afterlife. In the more modern times, people are buried with sentimental items that meant something to the individual. For example, actor Bela Lugosi; known for his role as Count Dracula was buried in his Dracula cape. Princess Diana was buried with a set of rosary beads given to her by Mother Theresa. There are, others, who are buried with their fortunes; money mostly, bu
